What is Microsoft Autofill?
Microsoft Autofill is a password manager and autofill tool integrated with Microsoft Edge and available through extensions on Google Chrome and mobile apps. It allows users to securely store and autofill passwords, addresses, and payment info across devices using their Microsoft Account.
Why Cancel Microsoft Autofill?
- You’re switching to another password manager like LastPass, 1Password, or Bitwarden.
- Privacy or syncing concerns.
- You want to manage passwords manually or store them offline.
Is Microsoft Autofill a Paid Subscription?
Microsoft Autofill is available for free with a Microsoft account. However, advanced password health tools and data protection features may require a Microsoft 365 subscription. Canceling autofill does not cancel your Microsoft 365 plan.
How to Cancel Microsoft Autofill?

- Open Edge and go to Settings.
- Select Profiles > Passwords.
- Toggle off Offer to save passwords and Autofill passwords.

- On Mobile (Android/iOS):
- Open Microsoft Authenticator app.
- Tap on Password Manager.

What Happens After Disabling Autofill?
Once autofill is turned off, Microsoft will no longer automatically suggest or fill your login credentials or saved information. However, your saved data will still be accessible through your Microsoft Account until you manually delete it.

If you wish to delete your autofill data permanently:
- Go to https://account.microsoft.com.
